Jack Petchey Speak Out Challenge

Early into the school year, Year 10 took part in Jack Petchey Speak Out Challenge. The workshop to find Hurstmere’s public speaking representative for Bexley’s regional final was the most successful and impressive yet, building on the skills and natural talent of all who took part. Choosing the final candidates and eventual winner after the assembly round was a real challenge as there were so many worthy entrants and stunning speeches.JPSOC
Step forward Jorden Mazzeo! Here is his speech entitled ‘Confidence’. Covid meant the live regional final was cancelled BUT Jorden, in typical enthusiastic and determined fashion, entered into the digital final, held last week. To enter, he recorded himself delivering his phenomenal speech. I hope you enjoy and agree with me that he was robbed by not winning the event, but as he says himself:
'This experience will truly stay with me forever and I have learnt so much on this incredible journey.  Yes, I may have not won, but it is about my journey, not the winning.'
