On Monday 20th May Harmony Army performed the now well-known ‘Here I Am’ for, amongst others, the Deputy Mayor of London Joanne McCartney, Mary Harpley Chief Officer of the Greater London Authority (GLA) and Linda O’Sullivan Head of London and South East Region for Alzheimer’s Society.
Joanne McCartney said: “We were delighted to welcome Harmony Army to City Hall to hear about their inspiring work helping people with dementia. The Mayor is determined to make London the first dementia-friendly capital city in the world and the pupils of Hurstmere School for Boys are a great example of how we can all help to make our city a more welcoming and accessible place.”
Linda O’Sullivan said: “ ‘Here I Am’ is an amazing example of how anyone – regardless of age - can join the growing dementia movement. Harmony Army have created a song with a powerful message, showcasing how people with dementia can continue to live well with the condition.”
Harmony Army’s performance has featured in The South London Press on 31st May, the June/July edition of Dementia Together and received a tweet from Sadiq Khan, the Mayor of London.

Harmony Army has been invited to perform 'Here I Am' at London's City Hall on Monday 20th May. This is to coincide with the start of 'Dementia Action Week' and the audience will include
Joanne McCartney, Deputy Mayor of London, Mary Harpley, Chief Officer for the GLA (Greater London Authority), Gus Wilson, London Health Board Secretariat Manager along with senior staff from The Alzheimer’s Society.
|BBC Radio Kent's Dominic King interviewed Mr Gilbert and representatives of Harmony Army following the successful release of 'Here I Am'. The song was written and performed by Harmony Army, in support of the 40th anniversary of The Alzheimer's Society.
