On Monday 14th November 2011, Hurstmere held its Annual Prize Giving, celebrating the success of the boys in all aspects of school life. Our guest speaker this year was Mr Paul Matthews, former student of Hurstmere School and now UK CEO of Standard Life.
The audience of invited guests, governors, staff, prize winners and their parents enjoyed the evening immensely, and it was encouraging for the boys to hear from an “old boy” who talked about his positive memories of Hurstmere in the 1970s as well as his sporting and career achievements.
Nearly 100 prizes were awarded on the night. As well as the academic and form prizes, the following special awards were made:
