GCSE Programme of Study Overview
Year 10
Autumn Term: Still Life
An investigation of basic formal elements and a range of media and techniques, within the still life context, to develop and realise a fully finished drawing, painting or mixed-media work.
Spring Term: Myself
Produce a series of observational self-portraits and still life studies of personal objects. Produce a contextual study on Pop Art. Produce a critical study on Peter Blake or another Pop artist. From the above, develop a self-portrait on the theme “Myself” – reflecting the ideas of Blake and /or Pop Art.
Summer Term: Natural Forms
Produce an A1 mixed media study sheet from the observation of a variety of natural forms, and related sketchbook studies.
Year 11
Autumn Term: Natural Forms
Investigate and experiment with organic still life. Investigate and record the work and ideas of William Morris. Develop and realise final pieces (2D and 3D), from investigation work.
Spring Term
Complete, modify, and extend 3 chosen coursework projects
Summer Term
Timed Test and coursework completion.
