Governor’s and staff at Hurstmere School are committed to the safeguarding of the young people within our community, through an ethos built on care, positivity and safety within a stimulating environment , which promotes the holistic development and wellbeing of every pupil.
We at Hurstmere accept and recognise our responsibilities to challenge where necessary, but also develop awareness of the issues which cause children harm and we will work actively with other agencies to promote the welfare of our pupils.

Hurstmere School works in partnership with The Metropolitan Police Safer Schools Partnership in order to keep young people safe, reduce crime and the fear of crime and improve behaviour in the school and the community. Our Safer Schools Police Officer is PC Jackie Rose.

Young Minds has a Crisis Messenger service which provides free, 24/7 crisis support across the UK. You can access the text-message based service by texting YM to 85258.
You can speak to a counsellor at Childline on 0800 1111 or via 1-2-1 chat between 7.30 am and 3.30am every day. Their website also has lots of information and advice.
